With the immine retireme of Jeff Williams at the end of this year, Apple has begun a widespread recreation process in its manageme team. These managerial changes, reported by Bloomberg Mark Gorman, not only distribute Williams, but also put the future of one of the most importa company executives in a state of uncertaiy. According to the report, Johnny Sarji, senior vice preside of hardware technologies and a key person in the developme of M and A Series chips, is “assessing his career’s future” in Apple. It is importa that his team has recely succeeded Apple’s first proprietary modem after years of effort, and any decision to separate could be a blow to Apple’s independence in the semiconductor.
Meanwhile, Williams’ former responsibilities are systematically being transferred. Eddie Qiu, a successful service manager, will now take corol of health and fitness teams. This decision could pave the way for more commercialization of Apple’s achievemes in the field of health, possibly in the form of a Health Plus shared service. On the other hand, Apple Watch’s software and hardware sections are also separated; Craig Fedreigi, the chief software manager, takes charge of Watchos, and John Trance, the Hardware Chief Executive Officer, will oversee the hardware engineering of the product. However, the post of senior Operations Manager (COO) was earmarked to Sabih Khan earlier in July.
This rearrangeme also includes changes in the lower ranks. Apple’s fitness manager Jay Blancick, who has recely been investigated by an iernal investigation due to a former employee complai about creating an inappropriate work environme, will no longer report to his upstream manager. In the new structure, he will operate directly under the supervision of Sumble Dessai, the deputy director of health. Previously, both managers reported to Jeff Williams. This set of movemes reflects the transitional and decisive transition for Apple’s leadership team on the eve of the new season.
