Samsung seems to be revising its decision to abandon the Plus model of its flagship series. According to the Korean media report The Elec, the company has begun to develop a phone called the M Plus password, which is said to be the Galaxy S26 Plus.
Earlier this year, Samsung had defined three projects for the Galaxy S26 family: M1 for the S26 or S26 Pro, M2 for S26 Edge and M3 for S26 Ultra. The idea was to replace the Plus with a new version called AJ, hoping that a slightly different design could keep the mid -range option between the basic and ultra models.
But things did not go as expected. The Galaxy S25 Edge, which was released in May, has had a serious problem in the market. According to the report, Samsung has only produced about 2.5 units of the S25 in the past four months, even less than the 6.5 Galaxy S25 Plus’s circulation in the same period last year.
The poor performance of the S25 has apparently forced Samsung to be redirected. Although the Edge brand may have been an attempt to refresh the composition of the product, low statistics show that it failed to attract buyers.
For Samsung, the complete removal of the Plus model could put more pressure on the sales of flagships, and given that the company’s profit margin is still affected, it seems to be a safer choice to restore the Galaxy S26 Plus.
It is still unclear whether Samsung will continue the model of the Edge alongside Plus, or that will mean a complete return to the old structure. However, this decision shows how much the Korean company should be cautious about its flagships, as even small slips can lead to significant losses in the short term.
