At this year’s I/O developer conference, Google iroduced an artificial ielligence note-taking tool titled Project Tailwind unveiled Now this tool with a new name NotebookLM Released to a “small group of US users”.
As Google explains in its blog post, the NotebookLM tool started working with Google Docs and will soon be available in other formats as well. With NotebookLM you can select a collection of your documes and then use it to ask questions or even create new documes.

Google has also provided some examples of what can be done with NotebookLM. Automatically summarizing a long docume or turning a video outline io a script is among the tasks meioned in this post. The I/O conference also featured examples of this product, which is often designed for studes, such as creating a summary of class notes or recalling what you learned about a lesson.
While almost every other AI product has these features, Google hopes that by limiting its underlying model to information provided by users itself, it can improve its model’s responses and reduce its tendency to provide false information.
While NotebookLM has a system for quickly checking the answers it generates, Google warns that the AI tool may still give incorrect answers and doesn’t always get it right.
Finally, Google has meioned that the NotebookLM model will only have access to documes selected by users, and your data will not be made available to others, nor will it be used to train new AI models.
