With the unveiling of the A6700 APS-C mirrorless camera, Sony has brought significa advances in AI-based autofocus technology from its full-frame lineup to the budget ery-level A6000 series. The Sony A6700 camera will be available at a base price of $1,399.99.
Specifications and features of the Sony A6700 camera
The biggest upgrade of this mirrorless camera is its AI processing capability. Exactly the same improvemes in autofocus that transformed Sony’s $3,900 A7R V camera have been applied to this model. Thanks to the artificial ielligence processor, more grainy subjects will be detected, and it will be possible to ideify the presence of the animal and its type by the camera.
In addition to the above, this camera also has the ability to detect cars and planes, and it is also equipped with 334 phase detection autofocus pois. Thanks to AI-based auto framing, the Sony A6700 can track subjects without moving the camera. This feature is very useful when you are filming a moving subject.
In this model, Sony has upgraded the LCD display of the previous generation to an OLED touch sample with a variable angle. While this could be a nice developme for videographers, its variable angle can make the shooting process a bit time-consuming.
This screen has a 33 degree wider viewing angle compared to the A6600. According to Sony, the new OLED display is twice as bright, making it easier to use outdoors.
From the perspective of external specifications, the Sony A6700 camera has been accompanied by some suitable upgrades, especially in the connection departme. The new generation is finally equipped with a USB-C port that supports USB-PD fast charging and transfer speed 3.2 (10Gbps). The camera also has a customizable fro panel and is compatible with Sony’s Creators app for cloud uploads.
On paper, at least, the A6700 mirrorless camera comes with a few logical upgrades over the A6600, making it ideal for coe creators, vloggers, or anyone else who was to capture professional-quality photos and videos for less than Sony’s high-end cameras. It is ideal.
The base price of the camera (without additional equipme) is the same as its previous generation of $1,399.99, which goes up to $1,499.99 for the 16-50mm lens and $1,799.99 for the 18-35mm lens. This device can be pre-ordered from today on Sony’s website and will eer the market in August.
