Meta (formerly Facebook) has completed the first phase of building an artificial ielligence supercomputer. It is said that the construction process of this supercomputer will be completed by the end of this year and it will become the fastest artificial ielligence supercomputer in the world. Known as the AI Research SuperCluster (RSC), the supercomputer will help researchers develop much better AI models.
Among its applications, we can poi out the creation of better augmeed reality tools and the improveme of text, image and video analysis, most of these services will be used in Metaverse considered by Meta Company. Among the possible applications of this supercomputer is the ability of simultaneous voice translations, which allows differe people around the world to easily talk to each other or experience virtual reality games together.
This advanced supercomputer currely uses 760 Nvidia DGX A100 systems, which use a total of 6080 GPUs. Although the developme process of this system has not been finalized yet, it is already considered one of the fastest artificial ielligence supercomputers in the world. According to Meta, RSC offers up to 20 times faster speed than previous generations of supercomputers of this company, which shows its amazing power.
Meta says RSC can train language-processing models three times faster. This feature allows meta subcategory services such as Facebook and Instagram to check the generated coe more quickly. This year, the company plans to increase the number of GPUs in RSC to 16,000. This improves AI training performance by up to 2.5 times.
All in all, the creation of Metaverse is considered one of the main priorities of the Meta company, and this supercomputer can also prepare part of the necessary platforms for this environme. In the field of artificial ielligence supercomputers, two American governme institutions are working on building such a system whose performance will reach 2 exaflops, but Meta has announced that their system will benefit from the performance of 5 exaflops, which means it has more to say than its competitors.
