The Chinese gia Huawei Technologies iroduced the third version of its Pangu artificial ielligence model. This model uses Ascend processors designed by Huawei and a software environme called MindSpore. Huawei’s processor can perform the necessary model training tasks up to 10% faster than other popular GPUs currely used for similar purposes.

In this situation, Huawei is trying to provide an alternative for these customers by using the processors it has designed. According to company officials, their Ascend CPU-based cluster can be up to 10 perce faster than a “core GPU” when it comes to training models using AI. However, Huawei employees did not disclose specific details of the comparison conditions or how they arrived at this figure, nor did they say exactly how they conducted the comparison test.
