A valuable cargo of the latest Samsung folding handsets worth more than $ 5 million has been stolen at Heathro Airport in London. The cargo includes thousands of units of popular Galaxy Z Filip 2 and Galaxy Z Fold 2 recently released.
According to official reports, the truck containing the cargo disappeared immediately after evacuating at the Hitro Airport. The total value of the robbery is estimated at about $ 1.5 million (£ 1.5m). The price of each Galaxy Z Philip 2 in the UK market is £ 1.5 and the Fold 2 model is about £ 1.5.
The robbery, one of the biggest mobile thefts in recent years, has also stolen many other Samsung products, including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy Watch 4.
Fortunately, with the immediate follow -up of British police and close cooperation by Samsung, the place of stolen cargoes has been identified. Informed sources have said that Samsung probably deactivated all stolen devices so that it would not be possible to sell or use them in the black market.
Although Samsung is fully insured for this cargo and will not suffer significant financial loss, the process of inactive and then reactivated this number of phones is a major challenge for the company if recovered. The handset, which was unveiled on July 9, has been released in the UK market since August 6.
It is worth noting that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is recognized as the thinnest and lightest folding handset in the world, which has received an unprecedented welcome from consumers.
