Openai, the pioneer of artificial intelligence development in the world, is preparing to launch the new generation of its language model, Gpt-5 in early August. A generation whose abilities have been significantly upgraded to previous generations.
The news comes as Openai CEO Sam Altman has explicitly spoken of the imminent release of the model and has even exhibited some of its abilities in a podcast.
In the program, Altman emphasized that the Gpt-5 was able to answer a question that was incapable of understanding: “I felt a strange feeling. “The model immediately gave the right answer and I felt I was useless against it.”
According to sources, the original version of the Gpt-5 will be available with lighter versions called Gpt-5 Mini and Gpt-5 Nano via API and OpenAI services. The NANO version is available only for the use of developers in the API, but other versions will also be activated on the ChatGpt platform.
The new generation, unlike previous models, will come with the integration of the “O3” reasoning model; An action to simplify models and move to artificial general intelligence (Agi). It is important to reach the AGI level for Openai, as it will reduce Microsoft’s income share of future products.
Openai is also trying to release an O3-Mini Open-Weight (O3-Mini) model before the GPT-5 release. This will be the company’s first free model since Gpt-2 (Year 2). The model is set to be released on platforms such as Azure and Hugging Face.
