A promine American senator, Bernie Sanders, warned that artificial ielligence would not only eliminate jobs if they were developed without social justice and justice, but would become a new tool to suppress workers’ rights and increase the wealth of economic elites.
Bernie Sanders, a socialist represeative of Vermo, expressed concern over the unfortunate consequences of the expansion of artificial ielligence for the working class in an ierview with the Gizmodo website. “The main question is not how much artificial ielligence will change the world, but who will benefit from this change,” he said.
Sanders emphasized that technology is inherely neither good nor bad, but it is unjustly used by large companies that eliminate jobs, weaken unions and reduce wages.
Referring to the experience of the past fifty years, he said, “While the productivity of the workers has increased, its profits have almost completely received companies and the workers have become practically poorer.” According to Sanders, if the trend coinues, the inequality crisis will be exacerbated.
Senator Sanders suggested that using artificial ielligence should be reduced to 4 hours, without reducing wages. He warned that widespread use of chats and robots increases not only unemployme but also social isolation and meal crises.
He also poied to an apocalyptic scenario that some promine experts believe in: a scenario in which humans lose technology corol and the tools they have made to become a domina force over themselves.
“The world has to decide whether artificial ielligence will become a tool for the destruction of human dignity, or a means of eradicating poverty and improving the quality of life,” Sanders said.
