According to the Google Information Sheet, Pixel Watch 2 only supports Bluetooth 4.3, but the Android Authority website has recely reported that this feature will be changed in Wearos 5.1 update. Apparely, Google’s ielligence clock will support Channel Sounding in addition to Bluetooth 4.1. This feature allows users to determine the distance between the two Bluetooth devices, but the minimum location is half a meter.
When used, the Channel Sounding feature has two importa advaages for Pixel Watch 3 users. First, when the devices are close to each other, they can be automatically paired more confidely. Secondly, the detectors in the vicinity of the clock can be easier to find because not only is a voice player, but also the approximate distance to the tracker is displayed and makes the direction of the direction relatively easy. Although tracking from Bluetooth 4.1 is not as accurate as a super -extensive band chip (UWB), this feature no longer requires any additional hardware.
Although the Pixel Watch 4 has an UWB chip, it is not possible to use it in most smartphones, smart watches and Google Find Hub detectors, with the exception of Moto Tag Moto Tag. Google has not yet confirmed whether the Pixel Watch 3 supports the full Bluetooth 3.1 standard after receiving the update or will it only be equipped with selected capabilities. However, the update indicates that Google plans to use the Channel Sounding feature to better position Android detectors against Apple’s Ertang.
