Mistral unveiled free Devstral’s free artificial intelligence for coding

Mistral Artificial Intelligence Company has unveiled a new model called Devstral, which aims to help Coding Developed. This model was designed in collaboration with All Hands AI and released under Apache 2.0 license; That is, users can use it without restriction.

According to Mistral, Devstral in the Swe-Bench Verified benchmark, which measures the ability of models to perform programming tasks, has performed better than the GEMMA 3 27B models from Google and the Chinese V3 model Deepseek.

In the blog post sent to Techcrunch, Mistral announced:

“Devstral performs well in exploring code, simultaneous editing of multiple files, and executing software engineering agents.”

The model is designed to run on regular hardware such as a NVIDIA RTX 4090 or Mac with 2GB of RAM, which makes it suitable for use on devices.

Devstral supply comes in a situation where the use of coding artificial intelligence models is expanding rapidly. Last month, JetBrains introduced its first open source model for coding. At the same time, companies such as Google, OpenAI and Windsurf also launched special models for coding.

Although artificial intelligence models still face challenges such as low security and poor understanding of programming logic, the ability to increase productivity has made developers and companies high -speed. Mistral had previously entered the field of programming auxiliary tools by introducing another model called Codestral; But this model is not commercially available due to its limiting license. Devstral, unlike it, is offered in a commercial and commercial use.

The new model can now be downloaded as a “research preview” on platforms such as Hugging Face and is also available through Mistral API. The API is priced at $ 1.5 per million input tokens and $ 1.2 per million output token. Each million token is approximately 5,000 words.

Although the Devstral Coding Coding Model is a relatively small parameter with 2 billion parameters, Mistral has announced that it is working on a larger and more powerful model in the coding field that will be released soon.

Founded in year 5, Mistral has announced its goal of developing a variety of artificial intelligence -based services, including the Le Chat chat platform and mobile apps. The startup has attracted more than € 1.5 billion, and its customers include BNP Paribas, AXA and Mirakl.

Devstral is the third new Mistral product this month. Earlier, the company unveiled the Mistral Medium 3 general model as well as the organizational version of Le Chat with capabilities such as artificial intelligence and integration with tools such as Gmail and Google Drive.
