The SoundCloud Music Sharing Platform has announced that it has not used users’ coe to teach artificial ielligence models so far, and if it decides to do so, users will be able to withdraw.
According to rece reports, SoundCloud February 2024 without informing had added the terms of use of its services, allowing users’ coe to be used to develop and train artificial ielligence technologies.
Failure to use SoundCloud from users’ coe to teach artificial ielligence
Marnie Greenberg, a senior deputy of communications by SoundCloud, said in a stateme that the company has not yet allowed users to use artificial ielligence models and even take technical measures such as adding “NO AI” to preve abuse.
According to him, the changes to the use of the service were only to clarify the possible ieraction of users’ coe with the iernal artificial ielligence technologies of the platform. Greenberg emphasized that the curre applications of artificial ielligence in SoundCloud are limited to areas such as personalized suggestions, coe organizing, ideifying violations and dealing with fraud.

In the updated text, the conditions of using SoundCloud, the coe that users have uploaded, can be used to develop artificial ielligence technologies, except for separate agreemes with iellectual property owners such as great music publishers. People like Ed Newton, a technology expert, have criticized the changes without proper information and said they had received any emails about the announceme.
Given that many major platforms have changed their policies for artificial ielligence education in rece mohs, concerns about the right to ownership and transpare information to users have increased.
In a rece stateme, SoundCloud emphasized that if any use of users’ coe to train manufacturing models, it will definitely iroduce clear withdrawal mechanisms and will remain committed to protecting the rights and information of its creators.
