Texas local media reports on the view of a completely new Raptor engine from SpaceX. The engine will probably be used in future missiles. SpaceX Raptor engines are the strategic missile force, which is considered as the company’s next -generation platform for interstellar trips. The progress in the experimental flights seems to have stopped after two following failures. SpaceX has not released any news about the Eighth Strait Flight.
The last test of the SpaceX Strape was completed in early March and ended with the previous flight, with no access to any of its experimental goals. SpaceX conducted the last experiment, the eighth flight of Strape, about a month and a half after the unsuccessful attempt in January. The missile uses second -generation Raptor engines. Spacex had revealed its successor last year in a presentation by Ilan Musk.
Finally, the Raptor 2 engine will replace the Raptor 2 model. The engine is much easier to design than its previous ones. After Ilan Musk revealed the engine last year, he announced that Space X had first tested the engine for the first time.
The motor tested by the SpaceX, due to its nozzle dimensions, was a species of a sea -level raptor engine. The engines used in the upper part of the missiles, such as the second phase of Falcon 2 and the second stage of Strait, use larger nozzles. The reason is that when a rocket engine turns on the ground, the Earth’s atmosphere compresses the outlet gases and a smaller nozzle allows them to increase their pressure.
In contrast, for a high -end engine that is commonly used in dilute or in space, very low or zero -air pressure means that gases require more expansion for effective performance.
New images of SpaceX equipment in Texas are likely to show a Raptor 2 vacuum engine. The motor seen in this image has a wider nozzle than sea -level specimens and also appears to be in line with the highly simplified design of the Raptor 2. Removing fittings and bolts will reduce the likelihood of hot gases leakage into the engine compared to previous models.
