Instagram has released its new video editing app, which aims to compete with the Capcut app, a Tiktok product. The first iroduced app, which was iroduced in January, has been available for free to iOS and Android users today.
EDITS is described as a “video making app for coe manufacturers” and includes project manageme tools, recording notes and ideas, and reviewing video performance data. It also offers advanced editing features that are not available in the original Instagram app; Among the animations made by artificial ielligence from fixed images, replaceme of the background with green curtain and the subject cutting from the image.
Edits editing features are very similar to Kepkat, an independe video editing app developed by Tiktak’s pare company, ByTedance. The iroduction of Edits was done at the same time as Tiktak and Capcut were temporarily removed from AppStore and PlayStore stores in the United States, which reinforced the view that Meta (Instagram owner) sees Capkat as a direct competitor.
Adam Mosseri, an Instagram manager, accepted its similarities to Capcut at the initial unveiling of the EDITS on the Threads platform, but emphasized that Edits were more designed for “coe manufacturers” than ordinary users. He also responded to the reporter The Verge that the app “will ultimately be very differe from Capcut” and “offers a wider range of creative tools, though the audience may be less target.”
Instagram has now iroduced the future features of Edits, including Keyframe, more artificial ielligence -based editing tools, and the ability to collaborate with other users.
