Two US Democratic senators have asked Microsoft and Google to provide details of their partnerships with artificial ielligence companies such as Openai and Ahropic because they have concerns about competition and monopoly on the artificial ielligence market.
Following the expansion of large technology companies’ collaboration with artificial ielligence startups, two US Democratic senators from Google and Microsoft called for clarification on the details of these partnerships. According to them, these collaborations may restrict competition in the emerging artificial ielligence industry and violate couer -laws in the United States.
Elizabeth Warren, Senator Massachusetts, and Oregon State Senator Ron Widen, who are senior members of the Senate Banking and Financial Committees, respectively, asked Microsoft about his cooperation with the Ahropic startup and Microsoft about his relationship with OpenAI.
“We are worried that corporate partnerships in the artificial ielligence sector will weaken competition, bypass couer -laws and reduce options and increase prices for businesses and consumers who use artificial ielligence tools,” the letter said.

Google and Microsoft spokesmen have not yet responded to these letters. In their letter, the senators have called for clarification on the amou of artificial ielligence startups to cloud service providers, a possible exclusive right to use artificial ielligence models, and Google and Microsoft’s possible applications.
Earlier, the US Federal Commerce Commission (FTC) had published a report on cooperation between Microsoft and Openai, Amazon and Ahropic, as well as Google and Ahropic, which reflected some of the similar concerns. In some coracts, the report shows that artificial ielligence startups should make importa decisions with their cloud provider. Also, at least one of these agreemes, the AI does not allow a new model to launch a new model without its coordination and through its partner cloud platform.
These ierveions have raised serious dangers about the conceration of power and the restriction of the competitive environme in one of the most sensitive areas of technology, an area that is set to shape the future of the global economy.
