In an importa organizational change announced on Monday, OpenAI has expanded the responsibilities of the Lightkap Board, and CEO Sam Altman has focused more focus on the technical orieation of the company. The news was first reported by Bloomberg.
Key changes in the leadership team:
In addition to curre responsibilities, Brad Lightkap takes advaage of everyday operation, iernational developme and strategic partnerships with companies such as Microsoft and Apple.
Mark Chen was upgraded to senior research manager (previously a senior research deputy).
Julia Village was also appoied chief of human resources (previously the deputy of this sector).
Focus on Sam Altman:
According to OpenAI, these changes allow Altman to devote more time to product research and developme. The company emphasized that after the departure of Mira Morat, the former chief technology director in September, there was no substitute for this position. Murati has recely launched an artificial ielligence startup.
Rece exit and their impact:
This reconstruction is done when Openai has seen the departure of several other key executives, including:
- Bob McGro, Chief Executive Officer of former Research
- Bart Zov, Deputy Director of Education
In response to these sudden exit, Altman said, “It is not natural, but we are not a regular company” and described the changes as “a natural part of corporate growth”.

These changes follow the rece developmes of OpenAI, including the change from non -profit to the profit announced in December. The decision was met with protest by Ilan Musk, a company founder who claims Openai is now looking for maximum profits, not the developme of artificial ielligence “for the benefit of humanity.”
