A new report from the Canadian Cyber Security Ceer (CSE) claims that China, Russia and Iran are likely to use artificial ielligence tools to iervene in the Canadian federal election.
The report claims that cyber actors related to these couries will use techniques such as dip -foic and fake coe production to create disputes among voters and advance their ierests. Also, Canada‘s politicians and political parties will probably face phishing attacks and targeted ielligence disclosure, which aims to destabilize the coury’s political space.
“CSE is ready to carry out cyber operations to defend the coury against foreign threats if necessary,” said Caroline Javier, head of the Canadian Cyber Security Ceer. “At the same time, Canadians need to think cleverly about the information they see online.”
The CSE report emphasizes that rece advances in artificial ielligence -based coe production technologies, such as advanced diplomas and language models, allowed couries to impleme influeial campaigns against world elections at low cost and large -scale. According to the report, more than a quarter of the world elections have witnessed cyber ierference using artificial ielligence tools.
