According to a report released by Bloomberg, Meta iends to design and produce hardware and software needed for human robots. Informed sources have informed the news media that a newly established group in the Reality Labs Meta section will begin with focusing on the “human robot hardware” capable of doing home affairs.
Bloomberg pois out that the larger meta goals include the developme of “basic artificial ielligence, sensors and software used for robots to be manufactured and supplied by various companies”. This shows that Meta will probably not be marketed in the first step with its own brand. According to Bloomberg, the company is currely talking to robotics companies such as UNITREE ROBOTICS and Figure AI about its future plans.
“The main technologies we have invested in Reality Labs and Artificial Ielligence are complemeary to the developme of robotics,” said Andrew Bazver, chief technician at Meta Technology. “We believe that the expansion of your investme basket to this area will only bring the value added for meta artificial ielligence and our hybrid reality programs.”
Tesla has unveiled its ahropological robots earlier, while other technology gias have also begun eering the robotic industry. Rece research by Apple has briefly offered a Pixar -style desktop light that ieracts with users through voice commands and gestures. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Ku has said the company is investigating “human and inhumane robots for its future smart home ecosystem”. Nvidia also has great ambitions for the future of the robotics.
The new Meta Robotics Team will be led by Mark Whiten, the former CRUISE Motors Taxi Project CEO, which has now stopped. Whiton has previously served as executives in Microsoft, Sonus, Unity and Amazon.
