The technology gia has announced that it is testing a machine learning model in the United States to determine if a person is under 18 years of age and thus provides more appropriate experiences on their platforms.
Google’s new blog post titled “New Digital Protection for Children, Teenagers and Pares” explains that this machine learning model is based on data available on users, such as sites they have visited, the type of videos they watch on YouTube, and the time they have made their accous. It has been, it can guess the user’s age.
When the model recognizes that the user is probably under 18, Google will notify them of some settings and provide information on how users are confirmed with Salafi, credit card or governme ID.

Google enables some security features, such as Safesearch, with this feature, which deletes inappropriate coe from search results. The coe in YouTube, which may not be suitable for people under the age of 18, will also be limited. Google plans to launch its age estimation technology over time in more couries.
Google is likely to announce this change in response to increased atteion to child safety law. In addition to the child safety law (KOSA) and COPPA 2.0, technology gias are faced with another law called Kids Off Social Media ACT (KOSMA), which aims to preve children from accessing social networks under 13.
Meta is also one of the companies that has begun to use artificial ielligence to estimate the exact age of its users.
