ByteDance’s popular video editing app, CapCut, is also no longer available in the US. TikTok had six mohs to split from Chinese pare company ByteDance after Preside Biden passed the Act to Protect Americans from Apps Corolled by Foreign Adversaries. The company sued the Supreme Court, claiming that its First Amendme rights were violated, but the court unanimously ruled against the app.
As part of the ban, app stores must remove TikTok or face a $5,000 fine for every US user who downloads the app.
