China’s rapid progress in the field of advanced technologies has led to American concern, and in this regard, Washington has severely limited the export of the most advanced microchips to China that can be used in artificial ielligence technology.
During the latest commes, the Secretary of Commerce of the United States told reporters: “Currely, America is the leader in the developme of artificial ielligence technology and the production of microchips required for this technology, and maiaining this superiority is vitally importa.”
The new resolution of the US governme has considered exceptions for the export of goods related to advanced technology to friendly couries.
All microchip manufacturers in the US will be required to comply with the security regulations regarding the tightening of export restrictions.
However, the iensification of these restrictions has brought criticism from the producers of these products; They say these regulations will harm the competitiveness of American companies in the global market.
“We are deeply disappoied by this significa policy change in the last days of the curre US administration and without any effective industry input,” said John Neofer, executive director of the Semiconductor Industries Association, in a stateme. The implemeation of these regulations by leaving importa markets to competitors can seriously damage the American economy and its competitiveness.
Nvidia, one of the largest manufacturers of advanced microchips, also said in a stateme: “Although this decision is preseed as a couermeasure against China, it will do nothing to strengthen the security of the United States.”
