The threshold for the use of nuclear weapons in Russia has decreased and at the same time a high-ranking Russian officer has disclosed sensitive information about his coury’s nuclear activities.
Following the US and UK’s green light for Ukraine to fire long-range missiles at Russia, Vladimir Putin announced that the threshold for using nuclear weapons in Russia has been lowered. In this situation, a high-ranking Russian officer known by the nickname Aon has disclosed sensitive information about his coury’s nuclear activities.
Aoine, who previously worked at a secret nuclear site, fled Russia and sought refuge abroad after being threatened with being se to the fro lines of the war with Ukraine. Russia had previously used the Orshnik ballistic missile in response to the graing of a license to use long-range missiles.
Russia is ready for a nuclear attack


In an ierview with reporter Will Vernon, this officer gave details of living and working conditions at this nuclear site. He explained that the ceer’s staff were under strict surveillance and their coact with the outside world was severely limited. Aoine added:
Our task was to prepare to repel the enemy’s nuclear attacks and also to plan for our own nuclear attacks. The process of selecting the troops was very difficult and under corol and we were connected to lie detectors.
Aoine also poied to documes that corroborate his claims and reveal details of the nuclear site’s activities. According to him, on the day the war with Ukraine started, our forces were on full alert and no one was allowed to leave. The nuclear weapons were placed in their respective locations and we were fully prepared for a poteial conflict. The alert was lifted after a few weeks, but concerns about the use of nuclear weapons remained, he added.
This officer responded to the criticism of some experts who believe that Russia’s nuclear weapons are no longer operational. He emphasized that Russia has a large arsenal of nuclear warheads and activities related to the maienance and preparation of these weapons are ongoing. Aoine said:
It is an understateme for experts to think that our weapons are inoperable. We are constaly monitoring the status of our nuclear weapons.
Finally, Aoine spoke of his concerns about the possibility of being found by Russian forces. He stated that the security services and the local police were looking for him and this matter worried him greatly. However, he is determined to coinue leaking information and help other soldiers escape Russia. The revelations could pose a serious threat to Russia’s national security and worry the Kremlin that officers like Aon would gain access to more military secrets.
