Yesterday, Microsoft iroduced a new version of Copilot, which enables voice and visual communication and emphasizes its personalized capabilities. Now, in a rather long and optimistic memo titled “Technology Paradigm Shift,” Microsoft’s head of artificial ielligence, Mustafa Suleiman, has described AI models that can understand what humans see and hear. He also has a special emphasis on the developme of a mobile and personal artificial ielligence for people.
According to the Verge report, Mostafa Suleiman says in his note: “Some people worry that artificial ielligence will destroy what makes us humans unique. “My whole job has been to make sure it does exactly the opposite.”
Microsoft’s AI chief commes on the future of Copilot
Suleiman joined the company in early 2024 as head of Microsoft’s new AI division, amid the Redmond gia’s hiring of a number of key AI staff.

Also in June, Suleiman made headlines after coroversially claiming that anything published on the web is “free” and can be copied, recreated and replicated by artificial ielligence models. Now he’s optimistic that artificial ielligence – led by Microsoft – will usher in “a calmer, more helpful and supportive age, completely unlike anything we’ve seen before.”
Microsoft’s new version of Copilot looks a lot like Inflection’s Pi chatbot, and it’s clear that Solomon is now pushing Microsoft io personal AI assistas. “At Microsoft AI, we’re creating an AI companion for everyone,” Suleiman said in his note. “Copilot is by your side and will always be aligned with your ierests.”
Suleiman says that we should not focus too much on the technical specifications of an AI model, in fact the main part of a technology is the feeling you get from it. While protecting your privacy and data, Copilot also remembers the details of your life, he says.
“Over time (Copilot) will adapt to your behaviors and develop capabilities based on your preferences and needs,” he says. “Ultimately, with your permission, Copilot can act on your behalf, smoothing out the complexities of life and giving you more time to focus on what’s importa to you.”
However, I have to see how Copilot is going to provide a personalized experience in serious competition with other chatbots.
