Large technology companies have recely increasingly decided to turn to nuclear power to meet the power needs of their data ceers. “Jensen Huang”, the CEO of Nvidia, has recely announced that nuclear energy can be a good option to provide the energy needed by this company. The news follows Microsoft’s rece effort to reactivate the Three Mile Island nuclear facility to power its data ceers in the area.
In an ierview with Bloomberg TV, Huang said Nvidia could be ierested in nuclear power as part of its broader strategy to diversify the energy sources that power data ceers, according to Bloomberg.
Nuclear energy is one of the sustainable and extraordinary energy sources. Of course, this will not be the only resource used by large technology companies.

The reason for companies active in the field of artificial ielligence to turn to nuclear energy
The idea of powering data ceers with nuclear energy has become a trend among big tech companies, as companies like Nvidia, Microsoft, and even Amazon and Google are doubling down on their data ceers to support AI initiatives. Therefore, over time, they iend to provide the energy of this technology through less harmful energies such as nuclear energy. As a result, the emission of greenhouse gases will decrease worldwide and the environme will be less damaged.
Data ceer electricity consumption is expected to nearly double by 2026, reaching between 650 and 1,050 TWh, compared to 460 TWh in 2022, according to the Iernational Energy Agency (IEA). Therefore, it will probably replace fossil fuels in the near future.
Referring to the data ceers designed to support the heavy needs of artificial ielligence, the CEO of Nvidia talked about the various challenges of building these “artificial ielligence factories”. Building these factories requires significa energy, which is why they are often built far from population ceers.
