The European Union’s AI Pact is a voluary agreeme aimed at guiding companies to comply with future rules on artificial ielligence, but so far some tech gias have refused to sign up. Apple and Meta Among the companies that have refused to sign this agreeme and have limited some of the artificial ielligence features of their services for EU users.
Earlier this year, the EU iroduced the AI Pact, aimed at speeding tech companies’ compliance with its AI law in the coming years. Companies signing this voluary agreeme receive principles on topics including data governance, accouability and workforce training, and regulatory advaage.

According to Politico, more than 100 companies, including OpenAI, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Samsung, have signed up. But the names of two big companies, i.e. Apple and Meta, are not seen in this list.
In this regard, Apple has announced that it is in direct coact with the EU authorities, but has not signed this voluary agreeme.
Anna Kuperian, Meta’s spokeswoman, also told Politico in a stateme:
“We welcome harmonized EU legislation and are currely focusing on AI with regard to the AI Act, but we do not rule out joining the AI Treaty at a later stage.”

This report has been published as regulators around the world are currely scrutinizing major technology companies regarding data privacy and algorithmic decisions. This can coribute to the non-acceptance of the EU treaty by various companies.
Of course, Apple and Meta, without participating in this so-called voluary program, are forced to release their new AI products and services a little later or with strict supervision in Europe.
