Microsoft is reportedly working on an artificial ielligence-based chatbot to add to Xbox consoles, according to a source familiar with the matter.
As it turns out, Microsoft is apparely working on a new support chatbot for Xbox that will use artificial ielligence to help gamers solve problems they encouer on their consoles. The Redmond company has officially announced to The Verge website that it is testing this chatbot and added that an animated character has been designed for it to distinguish it from ordinary chatbots.
In a stateme to The Verge, Haiyan Zhang, Xbox’s chief AI officer, said:
We are testing a virtual support chatbot for Xbox. The prototype of this animated bot can investigate user questions with text or voice inputs.
He coinued:
This demo allows gamers to more easily and quickly investigate support issues using their native language and resolve their issues thanks to the information available on the Xbox Support pages.
There is a lot of talk about the appearance of this chatbot. You should probably remember Cortana. The same famous Microsoft voice assista in the Windows operating system, which was even available in Windows Phone phones, and Microsoft chose its name from an artificial ielligence character in the Halo game series. Some believe that the shape of this chatbot will be similar to Cortana. But some people believe that this new Xbox chatbot will look differe from Cortana. So that we do not know about this.
Microsoft’s new chatbot asks users, “How can I help you?” In this way, it can respond to users’ requests very quickly; From looking at solutions for a broken Xbox to fixing issues with shared services.
Overall, although AI-based chatbots have been around for years, this new Xbox chatbot should probably be a small part of a much larger and more ambitious project from Microsoft. Apparely, Microsoft was to bring artificial ielligence to the field of gaming and coe regulation in this way.
