Recely, two former members of OpenAI’s board of directors had a disagreeme with its curre members regarding the removal of Sam Altman as CEO of the company. It appears that the curre board does not think as highly of Sam Altman as the former board suspected.
Two former OpenAI board members have reportedly expressed displeasure with Sam Altman’s performance, as well as the safety of its AI, and called for Altman to be removed from the CEO seat. But the curre board of directors defended Altman against these words and accusations.
Helen Toner and Tasha McCauley, two former OpenAI board members, recely published an article on The Economist website criticizing Altman’s policies as well as his actions for the safety of OpenAI. The desire of these two people was that a series of frameworks and regulations should be established for artificial ielligence. According to their theory, companies active in the field of artificial ielligence should not be managed by themselves (there should be supervision over them).
What does OpenAI’s curre board say about Sam Altman?
According to Insider, two curre OpenAI board members, Brett Taylor and Larry Summers, have announced that they are trying to ensure the safety of the company’s artificial ielligence with a series of new measures. In addition, the two discussed their general opinion and stance on the company forming a new safety committee and preseing a set of voluary commitmes to the White House.
In part of their talk, Taylor and Summers also defended Sam Altman against accusations by OpenAI’s former board. Apparely, two former members claimed that Sam Altman fostered a “toxic culture of lying” and exhibited “psychologically abusive behavior.” But Taylor and Summers denied these claims and supported Altman in a way.
Toner (former member of OpenAI), however, explained in an ierview why they decided to fire Sam Altman from OpenAI. He said that Altman not only lied to them several times, but also withheld information from them. In this ierview, he also meioned that the previous board was not aware of the release of ChatGPT that happened in 2022, and they learned about it on X social network (former Twitter).
