According to RCO News Agency, citing Russia Elium, Donald Trump said in a conversation with reporters: “I talked with Putin. I hope this war will really end.”

These statements indicate the continuation of diplomatic efforts to end the multi-year conflict.

A few days have passed since the end of the last round of trilateral negotiations between Russia, the United States and Ukraine in Geneva (February 17-18); where Vladimir Medinsky, the head of the Russian delegation, announced the holding of a new meeting in the near future.

Ukrainian officials also noted progress in the negotiations.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has previously stated that Moscow is ready to pursue a negotiated solution to the Ukraine crisis based on the understandings reached by Putin and Trump at the Alaska summit.
