Egypt wants to continue negotiations with Iran – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to the report of Mehr news agency, quoted by Turkey’s Anatolia, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abd al-Ati called on Steve Whitkoff, the US envoy to the Middle East, on Friday to continue negotiations with Iran and avoid escalating tensions in the region.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that the two sides discussed regional developments, issues of common concern, as well as the latest round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
According to this statement, in this call, Abdel Ati emphasized “Egypt’s position in supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the remaining issues through negotiations.”
He pointed out the importance of continuing the negotiation process and avoiding the escalation of tension in the region.
Abdul Ati also emphasized the importance of finding middle solutions that would satisfy the interests of all parties.
On Thursday, the city of Geneva, Switzerland hosted the third round of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States with the mediation of Oman.
