Zionist analysts: Tel Aviv does not control the situation in Gaza – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by Rasha Todi, Amos Hareil, a military analyst of the Zionist newspaper Haaretz, wrote that the insistence on continuing the war without a clear perspective has led to “wasting achievements”. He added that after months of intensive operations by Tel Aviv, it is clear that Israel is not determining anything in the Gaza Strip now.
Hariel noted that what is known as the “Trump plan” on Gaza is slowly coming into effect, and predictions are limited to the beginning of practical steps in the coming period for reconstruction projects and the creation of a technocratic government, and perhaps the deployment of an international force. He pointed out that America’s talk about disarming Hamas has not yet turned into a practical plan or a binding timetable.
In the same context, Yoaf Limour, a military analyst of the Israel Hum newspaper, believes that Hamas will not be in a hurry to cede control of Gaza, and even if forced to do so, it may seek to maintain a military role similar to Hezbollah’s model in Lebanon, so that an armed force remains and other institutions manage civil affairs.
Limour added that Israel would demand the full implementation of any agreement that would include the disarmament of the Gaza Strip, but this Zionist analyst expressed doubts about the ability of possible international forces to achieve Israel’s goals, which it has failed to achieve during two years of intense war.
These analyzes relate the course of the war in Gaza to wider regional calculations, especially in the context of Iran and the slow process of normalizing relations with Saudi Arabia. Analysts believe that Tel Aviv is trying to create a united front with Washington against Tehran, even if this requires avoiding obstacles in the political arrangements proposed in Gaza at the current stage.
