White House: Trump is still ready to talk with Kim Jong Un, without preconditions – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing Sputnik, a senior official of the White House announced that the US government still maintains its position of being ready to talk with the leader of North Korea “without any preconditions”.
Referring to the records of Trump’s meeting with the leader of North Korea during his previous presidency, this official said that “Washington’s policy has not changed and the dialogue is still open.”
These statements were made following Kim Jong-un’s recent speech at the 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party of North Korea.
He had declared that Pyongyang “has no reason not to coexist with the United States”, provided that Washington abandons its “hostile” policy towards North Korea.
The leader of North Korea also emphasized that the future of relations between the United States and North Korea completely depends on the positions of the United States.
