According to Mehr news agency, citing Al-Mayadeen, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information announced in response to Afghanistan’s retaliatory attacks: “Our forces are responding to the shooting of Taliban forces on the border.”

According to this report, the government of Pakistan announced “immediate and effective action against unjustified attacks in Afghanistan”.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information added in its statement: “Afghan Taliban made a miscalculation and opened fire on the border posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without any justification.”

A Pakistani security source also claimed: Afghan soldiers fled from three areas that Pakistan had targeted in response to their firing.

These developments are while Afghan security sources told Al-Mayadeen: 10 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 15 military positions in Islamabad were captured in our retaliatory attacks.
