According to RCO News Agency, an Afghan government military official said in an interview with Al Jazeera TV channel: We attacked Pakistani positions in three provinces in response to the airstrikes in Paktika and Nangarhar provinces.
Al-Mayadeen TV channel also announced that an Afghan military official announced retaliatory attacks on Pakistan’s border positions.
An Afghan security source told Al-Mayadeen: Our forces have captured 10 Pakistani military positions and destroyed 5 other positions. The conflict has intensified in large areas along the “Durand” border line.
Reuters news agency also reported, quoting the spokesman of the Afghan government: “We are launching a large-scale attack along the border with Pakistan.”
Voice of Afghanistan news agency (Ava) also broadcasted images of Afghanistan’s attacks on Pakistan’s border positions and quoted a Taliban military official as saying: Retaliatory attacks by Islamic Emirate forces have begun against Pakistani soldiers in the eastern provinces of the country.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Afghan government, also said: In response to Pakistan’s military insurrections, extensive offensive operations against Pakistani military centers and facilities along the Durand Line were launched.
