America once again threatened to impose sanctions on Iraq – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to the report of Mehr News Agency, quoted by Al-Arabiya Network, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq pointed out Washington’s obvious interference in Baghdad’s internal affairs and announced that this country received a message from the United States that if Baghdad still wants to appoint Nouri al-Maliki to form the cabinet, it will impose sanctions on some Iraqi individuals and institutions.
In the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, it is stated that the verbal message that Baghdad received from the Americans in Washington in case of the insistence of the largest parliamentary faction on the nomination of its current candidate (Nuri al-Maliki), included two main clauses, the first clause of which was a clear and explicit reference by the US to impose sanctions on some Iraqi individuals and institutions.
According to this statement, the second paragraph also included a set of criteria related to the nature of Iraq’s cooperation and joint actions with the United States, especially regarding the formation of any future government and its performance.
