The president of Peru was removed from power – Mehr News Agency RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Reuters, the Peruvian Congress dismissed the president of the country, Jose Jerry, after only four months in power and following the scandal related to secret meetings with a Chinese businessman.
In the vote of the Peruvian Congress, 75 representatives voted in favor of Jerry’s removal, 24 were against and three abstained.
The president of the Peruvian Congress will be in charge of the administration of affairs as the interim president until the elections are held.
Jerry is the third president of Peru to be removed from office in a row.
Peru’s national elections are scheduled to be held on April 12.
