Araghchi: The European Union should seriously reconsider its non-constructive approaches
On Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Constantinos Kombus, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, had a telephone conversation with Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
According to RCO News Agency, in this telephone conversation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, while welcoming the start of a new round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, emphasized the importance of continuing the talks and reducing tension, and announced Cyprus’ readiness for any assistance in this process.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country also criticized the inappropriate approaches of the European Union towards Iran, especially the recent derogatory action of the Council of Ministers of this Union in labeling a part of the Iranian Armed Forces and inappropriate interference in Iran’s internal affairs, as well as incorrect positions regarding regional developments, including the genocide in Gaza and the crimes of the Zionist regime against the countries of the region. It became self-destructive.
In this phone call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs also informed his Cypriot counterpart about the developments related to the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States.
