Jordan: Israel’s actions in the West Bank are a clear violation of international law – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan strongly condemned the decisions and unilateral actions of the Zionist regime to impose illegal sovereignty on the West Bank, emphasizing that these actions are a clear violation of international law and a dangerous attempt to destroy the two-state solution.
According to the report of Mehr News Agency, quoted by Russia Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan issued a statement and declared its strong opposition to the illegal and unilateral decisions and actions of the Zionist regime in the occupied West Bank.
In this statement, the Jordanian government “strongly condemns the illegal decisions and actions of the Israeli cabinet to impose illegitimate rule, stabilize settlements and create a new legal and administrative reality in the West Bank.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan further emphasized that these decisions are “a clear violation of the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to form an independent and sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with the capital of occupied Jerusalem.”
Fouad Al-Majali, the official spokesman of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, also emphasized the firm position of Amman and announced: The Kingdom of Jordan absolutely rejects and condemns these unilateral, illegal and invalid decisions and actions of the Zionist regime in the occupied West Bank.
He added: These actions are a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, which includes all Israel’s efforts to change the demographic structure, nature and status of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967. Also, these actions are contrary to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice about the necessity of ending the occupation and invalidating the annexation of Palestinian lands.
The spokesman of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry warned against the “continuation of the expansionist policies and illegal actions of the extreme Israeli government in the West Bank” and stated that this process will intensify the cycle of violence and instability in the region.
In the end, Al-Majali called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, and called for effective pressure on the Zionist regime to immediately stop the escalation of tensions, end illegal actions and respond to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian nation in the formation of its independent state, and emphasized: the realization of a just and comprehensive peace is only possible by ending the occupation and guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian nation.
It should be noted that today the security cabinet of the Zionist regime has approved a series of new decisions related to the West Bank, which include the cancellation of a Jordanian law and the expansion of settlement construction.
According to published reports, the Israeli cabinet has revoked a Jordanian law that prohibited the sale of land to Jews in the West Bank. This law was related to the period of Jordanian sovereignty over the West Bank before the occupation of this region in 1967.
Israel’s security cabinet also approved decisions to expand settlements in the West Bank.
