According to the Mehr News Agency, quoted by Al Jazeera Qatar Network, following the announcement by the head of Sudan’s Governing Council, Abdul Fattah Al-Barhan, about the breaking of the siege of the city of Kaduqli in South Kordofan, local sources reported that at least 15 people were killed as a result of the shelling of the city by the “quick reaction forces”.

“Sudan Doctors” network announced that 15 people, including 7 children, were killed following a drone attack on the city of Kadogoli.

According to this report, this attack targeted the residential areas of Kaduqli in South Kordofan state and caused extensive damage to houses and urban infrastructure in addition to casualties.

These attacks targeted residential areas and a medical center. This event happened hours after Abdul Fattah al-Barhan, the head of Sudan’s ruling council, announced that the siege of this city had been broken.

According to the network, drones belonging to the “Rapid Reaction Forces” bombarded several neighborhoods in Kadugoli in South Kordofan state, resulting in the deaths of a number of civilians.

Earlier, this institution reported the death of 8 civilians, including 5 children, and the wounding of 11 people in a drone attack on a medical center; An attack that spread as other drones joined in. Also, 7 other people were killed in the targeting of “Kashmir” neighborhood.

Condemning what it described as “dangerous violations” against civilians, the Sudan Doctors Network said the targeting of residential areas, public gatherings and medical facilities is a clear violation of international humanitarian law and undermines efforts to protect civilians.

Meanwhile, Abdul Fattah al-Barhan announced on Tuesday that the army has succeeded in breaking the siege of Kadogholi city.

According to the official news agency of Sudan, Al-Barhan congratulated the “reopening of the Kaduqli route” and emphasized that the armed forces are able to access any part of the country.

Al-Barhan also said the military welcomes any real peace initiative that would stop the bloodshed, but any ceasefire must be accompanied by the complete withdrawal of rapid reaction forces from the cities under their control.

The Sudanese army also announced in a statement that during the operation to break the siege, it inflicted heavy losses and damages on the rapid reaction forces and succeeded in reopening the “Kaduqli-Al-Delenj” road “after a heroic battle”.

These developments occur while the clashes between the Sudanese army and the rapid reaction forces continue in different regions of the country, and the humanitarian situation in the involved cities is reported to be increasingly deteriorating.
