According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Sputnik News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian Presidential Palace (Kremlin), announced on Tuesday: Russia is monitoring the news related to the purchase of oil from India and is analyzing the statements related to this issue.

The spokesperson of the Russian Presidential Palace continued in this regard: Moscow has not yet heard any position from New Delhi regarding the refusal to buy Russian oil. Russia plans to continue developing its relations with India.

Dmitry Peskov then added: Russia respects the relations between India and America, but it does not attach any less importance to the development of strategic partnership with India.

Out of friendship and respect for Prime Minister Modi, and at his request, effective immediately, we agreed to a trade agreement between the United States and India under which Washington will apply a reduced countervailing tariff, reducing it from 25% to 18%.
