According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Wafa News Agency, Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, called on Palestinians to participate in the Palestinian National Council elections on November 1, 2026.
In the decree of Mahmoud Abbas, it has been specified that the elections of the Palestinian National Council should be held on November 1, 2026 in any place inside and outside the Palestinian territories where it is possible to hold them, so that the largest number of Palestinians in their areas of residence can participate in these elections.
The Central Election Committee of Palestine has been introduced as the official responsible for organizing the elections according to the existing laws.
Mahmoud Abbas also ordered the holding of the 8th National Congress of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fath) on May 14, 2026 in Ramallah.
The Cabinet of the Palestinian Authority had previously set April 25, 2026 as the date for holding local elections in the Palestinian territories.
