Trump’s strong warning to England and Canada – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Sputnik, US President Donald Trump strongly warned England against cooperation with China and described this cooperation as dangerous.
US President Donald Trump said on Friday that Canada and Britain should not enter into trade relations with China because it is dangerous.
The American president added: “For them (Britain), this is very dangerous, and in my opinion, it is even more dangerous if Canada has trade relations with China.” Canada’s situation is very bad at the moment and China cannot be considered as a solution to these problems.
This is while the Financial Times announced in an exclusive report that the administration of Donald Trump has held secret meetings with the separatists of the oil-rich province of Alberta, Canada, following the escalation of tensions between Washington and Ottawa.
According to this report, the leaders of the “Alberta Prosperity Project (APP), who are radical supporters of the independence of this western state, have met three times with the officials of the US Department of State in Washington since April last year.
This group is looking to hold another meeting next month with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Treasury to request a 500 billion dollar credit facility to finance the state’s budget in case of victory in the independence referendum.
Jeff Roth, the group’s legal advisor, has stated that the United States strongly welcomes a free and independent Alberta and that he has a much closer relationship with the Trump administration than Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Within Canada, these moves have been met with sharp reactions. Jill McGowan, president of the Alberta Federation of Labour, calls these actions examples of “foreign interference.”
Although polls show that about 30% of Alberta residents support secession, Alberta Governor Daniel Smith has opposed independence for the province and has emphasized that the vast majority of Alberta people do not want to become one of the states of the United States.
