According to Mehr news agency, citing Shahab news agency, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement issued a statement this Friday in response to the statements of Miki Zohar, the so-called Minister of Culture of the Zionist regime.

This movement considered Zohar’s words, which claimed the occupiers’ right to own Gaza and the West Bank and called the Palestinians “guests”, a clear reflection of a racist and colonialist ideology whose purpose is to ignore historical and geographical realities in order to advance annexation and forced migration projects.

Islamic Jihad of Palestine stated: These claims are just repetition of the old lies of the colonialists. This desperate attempt to turn the original owner of the land into a guest and introduce the occupier as the owner, simultaneously causes disgust and pity for their situation.

Islamic Jihad stated: The truth of Palestine from “Sea to River” (Mediterranean Sea to Jordan River) as an occupied land cannot be falsified, and the usurping regime has no document to deny the historical ownership of the Palestinians, except for imaginary legends.

In the continuation of this statement, the difference between the connection of the Palestinian nation with its land and the situation of the settlers is mentioned.

Islamic Jihad, recalling the decades of resistance and sacrifice of the Palestinian nation, noted that the Palestinians’ clinging to their land at all costs, in the face of the fleeing of the settlers who take refuge at the doors of the embassies at the first push, is a living proof of the identity of the original owners of the land.

It is stated in this statement: The rhetoric of the Zionist Minister of Culture is not only a distortion of history, but also an attempt to promote the discourse of hatred and justify war crimes and the continuation of the occupation.

At the end of this statement, the Islamic Jihad movement emphasized the temporary presence of the occupiers and declared: We are the children of Palestine, the owners of this land, and the occupiers are only temporary aliens. History will prove that we are here to stay and the occupation is doomed sooner or later.
