According to the Mehr news agency, citing Waa, following the emergence of legal disputes in the meeting of the board of directors, the presence of the head of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq in the House of Representatives and consultation with the senior speaker of the House of Representatives is a sign of an effort to end the constitutional controversies surrounding the selection of the second vice-chairman.
Jamal Kojar, the representative of the Kurdistan Islamic Union faction, announced on Tuesday: The presence of Judge “Faiq Zidan”, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council in the parliament, was aimed at clarifying the legal framework for the continuation of today’s session.
Kojar clarified: Judge Zidan’s meeting with the senior speaker of the House of Representatives is held with the aim of resolving existing legal ambiguities and legally finalizing the process of selecting and completing the candidacy of the second vice president of the parliament.
Meanwhile, immediately after entering the House of Representatives, Judge Faiq Zidan started an important meeting with “Amer Al-Afaez”, the senior speaker of the House.
In this meeting, which is being held with the presence of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives, the legal solution to finalize the selection of the second vice president will be reviewed and approved.
The news also indicates that “Habit al-Halbousi”, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and “Adnan Fihan”, his first deputy, attended a joint meeting with Judge “Faiq Zidan” on Tuesday.
Al-Halbousi and Faihan joined the crowd present at the meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council Chairman and “Amer Al-Afaez”, the Senate Speaker of the Parliament, to complete the consultations on the legal issues of the Parliament.
Judge Faiq Zidan, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, had started an important meeting in the “Constitutional Hall” with the presence of the Speaker of the Senate and the Secretary General of the Parliament.
On the other hand, a parliamentary source in Iraq said on Tuesday that Shahwan Abdullah has withdrawn from the candidacy for the second deputy speaker of the Iraqi Parliament and Farhad Al-Atrooshi has been nominated in his place.
