70 million dollar British contract to buy mobile artillery from Germany
Britain announced that it had signed a $70 million joint contract with Germany for the supply of mobile artillery.
According to Isna, the British Ministry of Defense announced today (Sunday) that it has signed a 52 million pound ($70 million) joint contract with Germany to purchase advanced artillery mounted on armored vehicles that can fire on the move and target targets at a distance of more than 70 kilometers (44 miles).
According to the Reuters News agency, the statement of the British Ministry of Defense states that this contract provides a prototype of the RCH 155 (155 mm self-propelled howitzer) system and two units for testing to the London army.
This system is produced by the Franco-German defense group KNDS and the German company Rheinmetall.
The statement also states that the system can fire 8 rounds per minute on the move, operate with two crews and travel 700 kilometers without refueling.
