Venezuela emphasized its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela issued a statement, while declaring its strong support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Somalia within the framework of internationally recognized borders, and condemned any unilateral action to recognize the separatist currents in this country.
According to RCO News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela announced by publishing a statement that within the framework of its independent foreign policy and by adhering to the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, it emphasizes to the international community the complete and decisive recognition of the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the “Federal Republic of Somalia” within its internationally recognized borders.
In this statement, it is stated that the principle of territorial integrity is inviolable and is the basic basis of peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and the whole world.
Venezuela has also declared that it supports the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the decisions of the African Union adopted in support of the territorial integrity of Somalia.
Further, the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in line with the position announced by the Somali government and with the support of allied countries, has categorically rejected any unilateral action aimed at recognizing separatist entities inside Somalia. In this statement, it is emphasized that such actions are a clear violation of international law, weaken regional stability and create a dangerous precedent for the international system.
In the final part of this statement, Venezuela called for a peaceful resolution of disputes through dialogue, mutual respect and multilateral mechanisms and emphasized that achieving a lasting solution to the challenges faced by Somalia is only possible by respecting the sovereignty of this country, supporting its legitimate institutions and avoiding any interference in internal affairs that violates the territorial integrity of Somalia.
