Erdogan: Türkiye wants peace, stability and ceasefire in Sudan
On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdul Fattah al-Barhan in Ankara and discussed bilateral relations and the continuation of conflicts in Sudan.
According to RCO News Agency, According to a statement published by the Turkish Presidential Communications Department on the “X” social network, the parties exchanged views on bilateral relations between Turkey and Sudan as well as regional and global developments.
Erdogan said in this meeting that Ankara plans to expand cooperation with Sudan in areas such as trade, agriculture, mining and defense industries.
The President of Turkey warned that the conflicts in Sudan have created one of the biggest humanitarian crises in the world and said that actions that are an example of crimes against humanity have taken place, especially in the Al-Fasher region.
He further called for “serious and decisive measures” to stop the violence.
Erdogan also emphasized that Türkiye supports the peace, stability and preservation of Sudan’s territorial integrity, and the main goal is to establish a ceasefire and establish lasting peace in this country.
In the end, he stated that Türkiye will continue to support the people of Sudan who are facing a humanitarian crisis through humanitarian aid.
