Russia supported the normalization of dialogue between the United States and Venezuela
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today (Thursday) that Russia always supports the normalization of dialogue between the United States and Venezuela and steps to reduce tension in the Caribbean region.
According to Isna, the ministry announced in a statement: “We always support the normalization of dialogue between Washington and Caracas. “We are convinced that steps are necessary to de-escalate the situation and find constructive solutions to existing problems and disputes, respecting international legal norms.”
The department also stated that the United States is continuously and deliberately escalating tensions around Venezuela, adding that unilateral decisions that threaten international shipping are cause for concern.
“We once again express our solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of the trials they are experiencing and our support for the path of the government of (Venezuelan President) Nicolás Maduro with the aim of protecting the national interests and sovereignty of the homeland,” the statement said.
Moscow hopes Washington will refrain from escalating tensions over Venezuela, which could have unpredictable consequences for the Western Hemisphere, the statement said.
