According to Mehr news agency, citing Al-Mayadin network, the US House of Representatives failed to approve two drafts of the plan that required the president of this country, Donald Trump, to obtain the approval of Congress before any “attack on Venezuela”.
These two proposals were drafted with the aim of requiring the White House to obtain official authorization from Congress before any military action against Caracas, but failed to gain the necessary votes in the House of Representatives.
Based on CB report S News America, the proposed plans that were presented by the Democratic representatives, could not get the necessary votes.
The first plan was “Gregory Mix“, suggested the New York Democratic representative. The plan called for US armed forces to withdraw from “engagement with any presidentially designated terrorist organization in the Western Hemisphere” unless Congress has declared war or authorized the use of military force.
According to this report, this plan was not voted with 210 votes in favor against 216 votes against.
The second plan is “Jim.” McGovern“, the Democratic representative of Massachusetts presented, which emphasized the withdrawal of the US armed forces from “any conflict in or against Venezuela that is not authorized by Congress”.
This plan was also not approved with 211 votes in favor against 213 votes against.
