According to the United Nations report, more than 70% of Syrian refugees live in extreme poverty and have limited access to basic services, education and job opportunities.

The report highlights that critical infrastructure, including homes, schools, water networks and health facilities, is either destroyed or under severe pressure, and many returnees have arrived in areas without basic services or uninhabitable homes. Security risks such as the presence of land mines and instability in different areas also continue.

The United Nations has warned that millions of displaced people have lost their livelihoods and are unable to provide basic needs such as drinking water, electricity, food, medicine and rent, and this economic situation has exposed them to risks such as child labor, gender violence, early marriage and other types of abuse.

The aforementioned report also refers to the difficult conditions of Syrian refugees in neighboring countries; In such a way that more than 90% of them in Lebanon and Türkiye are not able to meet their living expenses, and in Jordan, 93% of Syrian families are in debt for basic needs.

According to the United Nations, children bear the greatest burden of this crisis; Half of the Syrian refugees are under 18 years old and many only know the experience of war and displacement. Their access to education is irregular and the risk of child labor and early marriage is increasing.
