Cuba: US actions against Venezuela are unacceptable
The president of Cuba called the plans of the United States for military aggression against Venezuela with the aim of overthrowing the president of this Latin American country “unacceptable”.
According to Isna, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel wrote on the X social network on Tuesday evening: “The intervention, threats and military aggression that the United States is preparing against Venezuela to overthrow its legitimate government are unacceptable.”
He added: “We reject the plans being developed by Washington for military aggression against Venezuela with the aim of overthrowing President Nicolás Maduro and his government.”
Cuba has repeatedly warned about the dangers of instability in the region and declared its support for Maduro and Venezuela’s sovereignty.
Tensions between Caracas and Washington have risen significantly amid the Pentagon’s continued deployment of naval, air and land assets across the Caribbean, including the aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford, and Washington justifying its military presence in the region by “fighting drug trafficking.”
US President Donald Trump has claimed that Maduro’s days as president are “numbered”, but he has also claimed that Washington has no plans to go to war with Caracas.
